I never thought this would be possible for me

It really sucks when life doesn’t go our way, but that is just a part of life. Sometimes everything falls into place and other times, it doesn’t. How do you handle the disappointment when things don’t go your way or the way you anticipated

In the past, I set high expectations and then when I was not as impressed or something didn’t go as I expected, I got down on myself. I got mad at myself for setting my expectations so high and for not being happy with what ended up being my reality. I got frustrated with myself for NOT being thankful to have just experienced life. Do you struggle with finding the good things in life or do you fall into negative thoughts?

For some time now, I have been turning my life around, turning negative into positive, setting achievable goals, mastering my mind, and learning to truly love myself for who I am. I got to the point where I put my foot down and decided that I was done living my life comparing myself to everyone around me and on social media. It was time for me to practice self-love. Without self-love, I would never be truly happy in my life. I believe that everything starts with loving ourselves. Once we love ourselves then we will prioritize and live a fun, healthy, love-filled life bursting with more than I could have imagined.

The quote, “At age 20, we worry about what others think of us. At 40, we don’t care what they think of us. At 60, we discover they haven’t been thinking of us at all.” – Ann Landers – resonates with me, now that I am in my 40’s cause it finally clicked inside of me that I don’t need to think of what others think of me, not even my extended family. I am me and needed to love myself for the special and unique being that I am.

What I found is that before I could practice self-love, there were prerequisites I needed for success. These include:

  • Acceptance of my faults
  • Compassion for myself
  • Knowing the difference between what I want and need
  • Letting go of perfectionism
  • Being able to listen and trust myself
  • Release the need to always be in control

This month, you received emails from me about motivation, my year of wellness, self-care, and mindset.

I told you that I will work hard this year to serve you, my community, more than I have before. I am done hiding behind the scenes and I am now ready to be by your side to support you with achieving self-love, mindset, and emotional, and physical well-being. We will work on confidence building, creating abundance, handling stress, emotional intelligence, preventing or getting out of burnout, and much, much more.

You may be wondering why I am doing this now.

I am doing this now because we all need a cheerleader and positive support system alongside us. Every single one of us deserves to live their life to the fullest! If you don’t love yourself enough to put yourself first, set boundaries, and prioritize what matters to YOU, then you will continue to live life in an overwhelmed, negative, burned out, over-scheduled, and unhealthy (mentally and physically) state.

I want more for you! You deserve to love yourself!
